Chestnut Hill's season finale explores the music of Mozart, Mendelssohn, and Schumann, including the rarely-heard Horn Quintet in E-flat by Mozart, K. 407, written for one violin and two violas. The concert also includes Mendelssohn's Piano Trio in D minor, Op. 49 and Schumann's Piano Quartet in E-flat major, Op. 47. This performance introduces Frank Huang, concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic, to the Chestnut Hill audience, and brings back some of its favorite performers: William Purvis, horn; Tien-Hsin Cindy Wu, violin and viola, Cynthia Phelps, viola; Ronald Thomas, cello; and Mihae Lee, piano.

The Clinton Chamber of Commerce will host a series of free concerts sponsored by Guilford Savings Bank, on Thursday evenings beginning July 5 and running through August 16. Concerts begin at 6:30 p.m. and are held at the Vece Gazebo in front of the Pierson School on 75 East Main Street. A wide assortment of music will be featured this year, including the sounds of classic rock, blues, island music, jazz, country, swing, R&B, and soul. Bring your chairs, blankets and dancing shoes!

Avon - Crafts for Adults classes

When: Starting June 6, 2018
Popular instructor, Janet Valencis, will be returning to the Avon Free Public Library this summer to teach a three-week series of Crafts for Adults classes. Have fun, meet new people, be inspired, and leave with your own piece of artwork! For ages 16 and up. There is no charge, all supplies are included, and registration is not required. Come to one class or all three. Classes will meet from 3:00-4:30 in the library's Atrium. The schedule is as follows:
Wednesday, June 6, 3:00-4:30 p.m. Create a vase full of flowers using acrylic paint techniques.
Wednesday, July 11, 3:00-4:30 p.m. Create beautiful art using colored papers for a watercolor effect.
Wednesday, August 8, 3:00-04:30 p.m. Create your own monogram using simple patterns and colors.
